Roman Oleksiv's story is a testament to a miracle. In July 2022, a missile strike took the life of his mother, Halyna, and left Roman with burns over 50% of his body. After 35 surgeries and a long recovery that stretched from Ukraine to Germany, he is now thriving in his hometown of Lviv. Today, Roman is an aspiring ballroom dancer and an award-winning accordionist. His life is the subject of the award-winning film"Romchyk."
This April, Roman joins the One World Strong Foundation team for the Boston Marathon 5K, with his amazing father cheering him on. He runs to showcase the true Ukrainian character: sincere, resilient, and unbroken. We are humbled to stand beside him as he carries his message of hope to the streets of Boston.
